Tourist Overstay Fines

In the UAE, tourists/visit visas usually have a ten-day grace period, and fines are not levied during this time. As a result, they will be charged on a regular basis after their visa expires:

• AED 100 ($27) – service fee
• AED 200 ($55) – the first day of overstay after 10 days grace period
• AED 100 ($27) – each subsequent day

UAE Resident Overstay Fines 

Resident visa holder are also given a period of grace to take necessary action with regards to visa status like:

• Renewing or extending the visa
• Modifying the visa status
• Leaving the country
• Changing the visa status

There is a 30-day period after the expiration of your UAE residence visa during which you are exempt from fines, but the fines begin to accrue as soon as you exit the country.

• AED 25 ($7) – daily fine after grace period
• AED 50 ($14) – daily fine after 6 months of overstay
• AED 100 ($27) – daily fine after one year of overstay

• Health reasons – This petition letter must be accompanied by a medical report from the hospital with entry and exit dates in Arabic, issued by the Health Authority or Health Ministry.
• Assistant categories or Dubai Marsoom holders- Do you require an offer letter from the business or the sponsor. (Request for Dubai marsoom holders)
• Personal sponsorship (family)- Please, provide the following documents for a petition letter from the Sponsor: Passport copy of the sponsor, visa, and/or labor contract or salary certificate or memorandum. If there are papers to support the causes of the violation, submit them.
• Sponsor death- – send a petition letter from the business with the stamp or sponsor or applicant – applicant’s passport copy – visa
• Company sponsorship- – Original emirates id of sponsor or partner or company pro – petition letter from the company with the stamp – passport copy of the applicant + visa – establishment card copy – trade license.
• Delay in passport renewal/issuing—required petition letter from the company or Sponsor or applicant – letter from the embassy/consulate of the date of submitting the passport renewal application or issuing the passport application. + visa – trade license and establishment card for companies – labor contract for personal sponsorship
• To apply, you must have minimum fines of Dh1500 (under family visa) and Dh3500 (under employment visa).

List of Mandatory Documents:

1. Original Emirates ID (Sponsor) + Passport visa copy

2. Passport for Applicant + visa

3. Visa copy (File Number) which has fines

4. New approved e -visa (incase to apply for change status)

5. Cancellation Paper (incase wants to leave the country)

6. NOC/ Petition letter (Arabic) request reduced fines or Letter of exemption.

7. UID number from GDRFA for (New born) to process the fine reducing application.
